2024 African American History Month marks the 20th anniversary of the AARC's Grapevine Literary Book Club. Join us for the celebration and review of "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe.

February 2024 will mark the 20th year for the African American Resource Center's Grapevine Literary Society Book Club. The club was established on Feb. 16, 2004, with four members. Founding members of the Book Club were Alicia Latimer, Jackie Goodman (deceased, 2018), Viviane Patton and Desrie Terrie. The Grapevine Literary Society Book Club is an informal membership organization, open to all men and women who are interested in discussing and expanding their knowledge of literature written primarily by African American authors. Membership is obtained by attending one meeting.

Meeting Date: Fourth Monday of each month
Meeting Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Meeting Locations: Meetings are held at various Tulsa locations. For location details or to be added to the mailing list, please contact AARC Coordinator Larissa McNeil at 918-549-7323.

The lively Club, chaired by Charmetrea L. Cobbs, is still going strong and diverse after all of these years. Those reading the book in its entirety get to rate the book. Selections come from the Tulsa City-County Library's collection and occasionally tie in to an author's appearance at the library. Consider joining us!

 RATING OF BOOKS

 2. Hardly worth the trouble
