Each year, the Tulsa City-County Library hosts a systemwide initiative called One Book, One Tulsa, during which Tulsa County residents are encouraged to read the same book. The purpose of this program is to foster literacy within our community and to encourage conversation about a meaningful book.
This year's selection is The Lion Women of Tehran. From nationally bestselling author Marjan Kamali, this book club favorite is “evocative ... and a powerful portrait of friendship, feminism and political activism” (People) set against three transformative decades in Tehran, Iran.
Join us on the first floor of Central Library for a discussion of Kamali's book. Following her presentation, the author will answer questions from the audience and sign copies of her novel. Books will be available for purchasing, courtesy of Magic City Books.
